Khristian Hart is our second 'Rising Star Award' Winner.  Khristian is a sophomore at Harrison High School where she carries a 3.93 GPA in the Honors Program. She is a three sport student-athlete participating in volleyball, basketball, and track. As a freshman she was a varsity starter in volleyball and basketball, and was a member of the winning 1600 Meter Relay Regional Team qualifying for State. By the end of her freshman year she had earned three varsity letters and made Academic All-City in all three sports.

As a middle school athlete at McGary she started on the varsity volleyball team as a 6th grader helping the Pioneers to their first every City Championship. She was the 400 Meter Dash City Champion in 2005 and the runner-up in the 400 Meter Dash in 2006. For her accomplishments as an athlete at McGary, Khristian received the Athlete of the Year Award which is given to eighth grade students. During the summer months she was a member of the MBC Basketball team making the 2006 Florida Hoops All Tournament team at Nationals. Besides athletics at McGary, Khristian participated in Band, Student Council, and Star Power. She also participates in Star Power at Harrison High School.

More than just an athlete, Khristian is very active in her youth group at Church of the Harvest and serves in the nursery, audio/visual, and dance ministries. In her spare time she enjoys reading, dancing, running, and hanging out with friends. Her future plans are undecided as to where she will pursue her education, but her dream is to play basketball at a Division 1 school.

Hart verbally commits to the Aces..(Nicholas Romain)

Khristian has verbally committed to play Basketball for the University of Evansville in 2010-2011...

The first time I ever saw her play basketball, Khristian Hart was in the 6th grade playing on the Middle School Varsity team at McGary, and completely dominating the game - so, Khristian's verbal commitment to play for the Lady Aces doesn't surprise me, not talent wise, nor in her desire to stay home...In 2007, DLS selected Khristian as our 'Rising-Star' award winner, not only because of her talent, but on her overall potential as a leader for her school, church, and this community...and after getting to know her mom and dad, I have a better understanding of how close knit her family is...Congrats Khristian, great chose, we'll be watching you!
